The mellow, introspective ‘Left Behind’ is a haunting piano ballad following someone who feels like they’re being left behind by the person they love. Lexo has matured every element of his songwriting with this track. The advancement in production sees dense reverb create and airy texture beneath the vulnerable piano chords, while his ability to craft a catchy melody becomes clear halfway through with a powerful bridge section. Even his lyrics have become bolder and more personal, with that bridge section in particular stating: “My head won’t stop spinning tonight, I’m in my thoughts, I’m in my mind. And I am worried sick, cause’ I don’t know who will be left behind”. An impressive release from Lexo, who is surely in for a big year. - Dan Peeke
